Advanced Chinese – Speaking and Writing I

CHIN 445 (3 credits) (3hrs/week)

Present yourself in Chinese. CHIN 445 is an advanced Chinese course for heritage students focusing on polishing students’ speech writing and presenting. The course shifts from daily conversation to formal public speech language aiming to systematic introduction to public speaking skills; three rounds of speech practice; one round of impromptu speech; basic knowledge and techniques of argumentative composition; and five to six argumentative composition assignments. This course corresponds with the ACTFL Advanced-High Level Language Proficiency.

Placement interview : required (except for continuing students with advancement approval from previous class)

CHIN445 Advanced Chinese Speaking and Writing I (Heritage) Sections

Public-speaking and writing skills at an advanced level. Can be taken concurrently with CHIN 435 and/or CHIN 441. Credit will be granted for only one of CHIN 445 or CHIN 315 or CHIN 448.
