Advanced Chinese — Reading and Writing II
CHIN 443 (3 credits) (3hrs/week)
Dive into the Chinese literature. CHIN 443 is a continuation course of CHIN 441, for heritage students who wish to focus on Chinese literature work and analysis in modern Chinese. The course engages in reading and writing at an advanced level and strengthens students’ linguistic competence through expanding vocabulary; introducing advanced Chinese grammar and rhetoric; developing the students’ abilities to read and analyze modern Chinese prose, essays and short stories; as well as comprehensive training of Chinese writing. .This course corresponds with the ACTFL Advanced-High Level Language Proficiency.Textbook : Pkg Xiandai Hanyu Gaoji Jiaocheng, Vol 2 Revised W / Mp3Xiandai Hanyu Gaoji Jiaocheng, Vol. 2, Revised Edition (Ma, 2013)
Prerequisite : CHIN 441 or equivalent
Placement interview : required (except for continuing students with advancement approval from previous class)
Continued Area of Study : CHIN 445, 435 or Literature courses. (Students can take CHIN 441/443, CHIN 445 and CHIN 435/437 concurrently or out of order.)
