2024 Lunar New Year Celebration

The Department of Asian Studies is excited to announce a collaborative initiative with the UBC Student Union (AMS) for an enriching and inclusive event dedicated to celebrating the Lunar New Year. Our goal this year is to curate a cultural festival that goes beyond the display of traditional customs; we aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse ways in which the Lunar New Year is celebrated across Asia. The event kicks off with a Traditional Lion Dance, followed by lively performances, cultural activities, food, fun, and more.
